NDSU lands HS PG Riley Saunders out of Georgia. Another 6ft PG so will be a depth piece behind Andy and DWT. Nice to see us land kids and he looks like a solid player but he's not what we need to win next year yet so that part is disappointing.

One thing to keep in mind as well is that starting next year, the scholarship limit for men's basketball has been increased from 13 to 15. So in theory, the team could add at least 5 more scholarship players. My point is that they still have quite a bit of flexibility with the roster and who they can add.

I actually like this get. Was a solid D2 player.

He's a 6'6" wing that started all 32 games last year for WMU and led them in minutes averaging 11ppg. Haven't seen video of him but he doesn't really shoot the 3 (8-32 overall from 3 last year) and was a very poor FT shooter (48% from the stripe) but he still shot 48% from the field and averaged 11ppg so he must be pretty good around the basket. He only averaged about 4 rebounds per game despite playing 30 minutes per game so doesn't quite give this team the frontcourt presence they're likely looking for but seems like he could be a starter at the 3 or 4 spot.

Another player with NBA lineage though as his dad Mark had a nice NBA career.

To be honest, looks like a bigger and better version of Darek Dissette. Athletic player that will score around the basket, get you the energy and hustle points and will do some of the dirty work...a junkyard dog.

I think all teams benefit from having a guy like this and again he looks like an updgrade in that role over Dissette...so I like this signing.

I can certainly understand why he'd transfer for that. It's not as if he'll make the NBA. (maybe I'm wrong?) May as well cash in now.

He reminds me of Kory Brown and we haven't had a player like that other than Dissette really since. We've needed a guy to add a little toughness and defense and hopefully provide some extra help on the glass. I think he'll get plenty of run at the 4 spot but would still love us to find another stretch 4 style guy that play like Moni/Nelson. Unlikely at this point we land somebody of that talent level but a similar style of play would be great.

Coach was on 1660 this week and said he couldn’t name names but the just got a commit from a 6’8” player. The next day we hear about the Western Michigan transfer. Was ol’ Dave telling fish tales about him or is there someone else on the radar that might be who he was talking about?
