    Default Bye week discussion

As I've mentioned before, I really look forward to coach's weekly press conference. Here is this week's presser.

Interesting this week because the coordinators get to field questions. Landry made a comment about 'self-scouting' during the break.

This is something I brought up numerous times last season, because it felt like it was lacking under the previous staff.

I also get the sense that Polasek is constantly coaching the coaches. I'm glad we get some extra time to prepare for Misery State and USD. Neither will be an easy game.
North Dakota State, a football team the big boys of college football should avoid like the plague, helped christen a $90 million renovation to Snyder Family Stadium — including a statue of famed Kansas State coach Bill Snyder himself — by taking a sledgehammer to the place.

My guess is the bye week is about to be dominated by a certain rumor Action Network's Brett McMurphy just floated - check the "New and better FBS thread" for details.

I just was coming on to post the link....VERY interesting news, if true. But, McMurphy is a fairly "reliable" source, so maybe this does hold some water.

To summarize: MWC is open to discussing NDSU as a possible football only member. Definitely the dream scenario!

If NDSU joins the MWC and begins play in 2026, with postseason eligibility starting 2027, what does that mean for 2025?

I assume NDSU would play 2025 in the MVFC, if they don't expand scholarships, are they postseason eligible still? If not, then this year would be NDSU's final 'hoorah' and our last chance to win an FCS title...

I would imagine we wouldn't be eligible for the championship if we are already in the transition phase.

It would be like Mo State this year. They are moving up next year so are ineligible for postseason play, or being ranked in FCS polls.

Ineligible fcs team playing a mvfc schedule with a few extra scholarships. Like missouri state this year. The next year would be ineligible fbs team playing a mwc schedule. The third year we would be eligible.
