If we take care of business from here on out, we shouldn’t see them until Frisco, unless they piss themselves and drop one to USD or some other team, I could see them falling to 4 or 5…

After the game, I hope we can recruit/develop another Luepke/Bonnet type FB or hybrid TE that can take on their LBs but also win in the passing game. Make them pay for blitzing and crashing the line of scrimmage. A Gindorf/Veldman/Vaadeland body style TE would could help us immensely going forward.

We have done some unbalanced or extra lineman/ogre packages before and maybe should think about that on 3rd and 1 or 2. Even put in a TE at WR and motion them in for more beef blocking.

How about the freshman LB recruit who has played a little HB this year? He's young but looks like he has the frame and potential.

They tried that a few times to my recollection - SDSU always had a LB in position to make the play though. The one time they went zero blitz Cam either panicked or none of the receivers had the awareness to run a hot route.

I do think there's some depth issues right now at TE and FB though. Doesn't seem like they trust any FBs to play the big snaps with Brozio out and other than Stoffel the TEs haven't had much impact. I'm hoping Grey's brother Jett Zabel can change that in the future but he's redshirting this year.

I feel like this could be said about the entire SDSU defense. Boy, they sure made every yard difficult to get, and always had a guy in the right position to make a play and very sure tacklers. That's a very well coached defense and team.

Amazing how that works when a defensive-minded HC uses his knowledge/influence to help his DC put their team in the best position to win each week. If only NDSU would have had a HC just like that the last few years....oh wait.
