    Default 2024 Season Thread

After yesterday's win over SDSU, which clinched a postseason berth for the team, is it time for us to start talking about the 2024 season?

Huge turnaround this year- I would have started the season thread but didn't want to jinx it.

Could confirm they were vastly improved when they lost 0-1 to Grand Canyon. Granted, NDSU has beat them in the past, but GCU has really invested in their soccer programs and have consistently been a top 100 RPI team the past few years.

Hopefully there's a big crowd on Sunday, they deserve it.

A win or a tie on Sunday should see NDSU hosting the Summit League semis on 11/7 and championship on 11/10.

North Dakota State wraps up the regular season and Summit League play on Sunday, hosting St. Thomas at Dacotah Field. The Bison will look to secure the 2024 Summit League Regular Season Championship and lock up the No. 1 seed in the Summit League Tournament against the Tommies, with kickoff set for 1 p.m.

North Dakota State senior Olivia Watson has an added community pride in the success of the Bison women's soccer team this fall.

The Moorhead High School graduate has helped put NDSU in position to win a Summit League championship for the first time in nearly a decade……

…… Externally, the Bison weren't highly regarded to start the regular season. NDSU was picked to finish in seventh place among nine teams in the preseason Summit League coaches' poll in mid-August.…..

    The equalizer was nice!

I wasn't able to find the thread where the championships are recorded, or I'd have updated it.

Just saw the following rankings on the United Soccer Coaches website

    West - Poll 11 - October 29, 2024

    1 Santa Clara University 1 11-2-3
    2 Pepperdine University 2 10-3-4
    3 Loyola Marymount University 3 10-4-2
    4 University of Montana 4 12-2-4
    5 University of Denver 6 11-5-2
    6 University of Portland 5 8-4-6
    7 University of Nebraska-Omaha 9 11-2-5
    8 University of California, Davis 10 12-4-2
    9 University of Hawaii 7 11-7-1
10 North Dakota State University NR 9-5-3
Sure, it means nothing when it comes to getting a bid to the big dance, they definitely have to win the SL tourney to do that, but it's nice for the program to be recognized that they're moving in the right direction.

Bison unable to find the back of the net in the first half, but getting opportunities. Tied 0-0 with ORU in the Summit semifinal on about as nice of a day you can get in November in Fargo.
