    Default 24-25 Season

So, I've chatted with a couple people that were down at the Summit League media day this week and they came away with the impression that NDSU has a shot to be really good this year. One who's been around the league for quite some time said he thinks this is the best squad NDSU has put together in quite some time. Another guy I'm decent friends with said both Dave and the players seemed to have a much better demeanor than they have the last couple years and got the feeling from the player interviews that the locker room vibes are high. It would seem whoever was causing the locker room issues (feel like we know who the primary issue was) is no longer here and the team is trending back in the right direction.

I do believe we have the most talented roster in the league...but we'll see if Dave can actually utilize the talent and put the guys in a position to be successful. Based on what came out of media day my hopes are higher than they were a month ago, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I posted in another thread that I think the many portal moves since last season, will be a net positive for this team. I mean that from a talent and locker room standpoint.

The first Summit coach to figure out how to use the portal effectively every season can build sustained success. That sounds counterintuitive, but fighting the portal is a recipe for failure.
North Dakota State, a football team the big boys of college football should avoid like the plague, helped christen a $90 million renovation to Snyder Family Stadium — including a statue of famed Kansas State coach Bill Snyder himself — by taking a sledgehammer to the place.

I have come to this mindset as well. The first coach or program that can create a culture of acceptance and belonging that creates a desire to play hard for your team even if it's half brand new will be able to dominate leagues like the Summit. IF and a big IF they know how to evaluate talent.

#MSUMDragons men's basketball picked 2nd in the NSIC preseason coaches poll. Defending DII national champion Mankato is the league favorite.
No offense to Concordia, but the Dragons are a much more interesting preseason test than the Cobbers. Could draw a nice crowd too…

I like the mix of transfer we brought in. We will probably go as far those guys take us. Could be a pretty good year with the league pretty open IMO. Its a new era and the portal doesnt have to be a bad thing for us.

MSUM will be a good early test. They return a fair amount. I noticed Minnesota State, the NSIC fav and defending natl champs, are playing Kentucky. Ill be keeping an eye on that score.

I think I agree with a lot except miller will start
I think that is where we were held back by upper class men last season
Watch for miller to blow up
    TRUST THE PROCESS

I also think Miller will start. I think depending on DWT's health status to start the season, Stefonowicz may redshirt. I think you'll see Kasubke and Watkins in the rotation and give Andy a year to settle in. However, if DWT isn't 100% early and we need him for depth then he'll likely work in the rotation. I wouldn't be surprised if we get some Andersen at the 5 spot as well, he's supposedly been very impressive thus far.

All the pictures (and videos) I see of the team practicing I see DWT practicing. Has something happened recently?

From my understanding (and this is all 2nd hand knowledge, so I have no clue of the accuracy) he had to have a sort of clean up procedure done on the same leg he had the issue with before and then it just depended on how it responded and the ramp up period leading into the season. I know when he originally injured it and was working back, I had seen him practicing in videos as well and then when I went to practice, he wasn't, and Dave had said he just wasn't medically cleared for the 5 on 5 stuff yet which is all they were doing that day, so he did drills by himself on the side. So just depends on where he's at in that process. I do believe if he misses time, it won't be a lot, but he may not be full go to start the year.
