    Default NDSU retirements

Going to be a lot of changes...so far, four people are leaving Business, five are leaving Ag Econ, two are leaving Psychology, three are leaving Music, one is leaving Communications, one is leaving Human Development/Family Science, and the Attending Vet is leaving…so far…

Who are the ones retiring from Ag Econ?
North Dakota State, a football team the big boys of college football should avoid like the plague, helped christen a $90 million renovation to Snyder Family Stadium — including a statue of famed Kansas State coach Bill Snyder himself — by taking a sledgehammer to the place.

What is the driver? Reduced enrollments?

The 3 from the music department have 35, 31 and 25 years at NDSU.

I am guessing retirement age is many of them.

There were 760 faculty members in the fall of 2022.

Combination of retirement age (many but not all) and people taking advantage of the voluntary separation buyout the admin offered back in January.

Ag Econ: Kerianne Lawson, Jeremy Jackson, Ray March, Veeshan Tayamajhee, Anupa Sharma

Communication: Elizabeth Crawford (and Jeremy Jackson's wife)

Business: Joe Mike Jones, Tim Peterson, Fred Riggins, Charles Stevens

    Psychology: Mark McCourt, Verlin Hinsz

    HDFS: Margaret Fitzgerald (former provost)

    Attending Vet: Neil Dyer

Music: Robert Groves, Jo Ann Miller, Kyle Mack (rumor is that John Miller may also be retiring).

    Public Health: Paul Carson

Admin doesn't release a list of names, you have to follow the reception announcements, so I'm guessing there'll be more....

It is very difficult to replace anyone leaving at the moment. Just a dark, dark time right now. If this continues, they will need to double down shuttering more programs as you can't run a university that way as your successful programs are already suffering.

Yep. St Cloud is proposing cutting 46 majors, 50 minors, and 57 faculty. 90% of their students will be in the 90 programs that remain, so they're doubling down on what is working and cutting the rest loose.

To put this in perspective, the School of Pharmacy is under intense scrutiny from the accreditation body due to a lack of faculty, administration, and funding for faculty development. What a mess.
