I actually don’t think top 2 seed matters much this year. Anyone can beat anyone so the Sunday rest day might not matter come Tuesday. But the top seed matters for “insurance” as I believe it is still the case that if you’re regular season champ, yet don’t win the conference tournament, you get an NIT invite.

Summit needs to step up NIL money to get more D League nba caliber
players or this lazze fair summit mess will continue. Lunardi has 9 Big 12 teams making the dance cuz they have more top 25 wins than Big 10 which will only have 6 teams in the dance. Cal and Stanford moving to the ACC due to total collapse of the PAC 12 is just wrong. Too much money in sports, almost the same as military defense, sports and war don’t rhyme. Mid majors are like D2 now playing D1. HS parents moving to high school NIL money approved states is happening now while we work our asses off to pay bills, mortgages and taxes. Those kids will be in for a rude awakening when they are off the court or field.
How about making some adjustments in-game to get them out of rythym? I don't think we even attempted running a double at 'their guy' in the post until the 2nd half, and then it was a half-hearted attempt at a doubleteam. Meanwhile, Morgan was getting abused down low the entire game.

At least we start March today, so we can now concentrate on winning now.

Why??? This year it really doesn't matter what your SLT seed is with no really good or really bad teams in the league. About the only thing that would be nice is to be on the opposite side of St Thomas since that would mean 2 wins could get you to the dance if they make the championship game from the other side since they're ineligible.

As for this game I quit watching at the under 12 timeout of the 2nd half but it was just an awful defensive effort top to bottom. Not staying attached to their shooters and then not closing out under control along with the terrible ball screen defense (as usual) meant USD could penetrate and break down the defense at will. On top of that their big guy couldn't miss in the first half when they built their lead despite some pretty awful post footwork. USD had 2 freaking turnovers for the entire game - that's just a pitiful defensive effort.

USD had a lot of bounces go their way and made a lot of shots they don't usually make, they were on fire....but this loss is 100% on Dave not doubling Thioune after he scored their first 10 points of the game. Morgs wasn't playing bad defense, he held his ground, didn't let him in the paint, Thioune just shot jump hooks over the top of his arms all game and they were going in. We ran a double team at him TWICE...once Boden got a steal (which he then turned back over) and once Thioune passed the ball out and USD ended up missing a jumper. We let him shoot 19 times from inside of 8 feet with no dig down, no double, no anything, just let him get to his spot and float a little turnaround hook shot and he made 13 of them...any adjustment...nope. Dave sucks...what sucks worse is if that's a tournament game he would 100% adjust but because it's regular season he just tries to prove a point instead, he's the worst.

We can beat anyone but putting together 3 good games in row will be difficult for this team. Think Id rather be opposite of SDSU and hope St Thomas knocks them off

    "Morgs wasn't playing bad defense"

I was at the game and he got absolutely worked. Constantly out of position and falling for every shot fake. On every entry pass, Morgan was already standing with his under the basket. They needed to double because Morgan can't play defense. So when they did double, USD went 10-14 from deep. F#cking embarrassing effort. I said it earlier this season and I'll say it again. We don't have the talent to win the NSIC this year.

Shoot, I did not see you to say hi! Been a long time. My bigger issue was why Dave did not have Morgan fronting him with backside help. That is bball 101 to stop a player like that.

I’d say if Morgan is getting used that badly in the post fronting him would end up worse

Morgan needs to play better defense before his man gets the ball. Body up and don't just let him receive the entry pass on the low block. We give teams whatever inside position they want. Make them work for position, FFS.
