Have the athletic departments pay the players and NIL will revert back to what it’s supposed to be: players getting paid to help companies advertise and/or sign autographs, appear in video games, etc.

No one loses a minute of sleep over coaches’ or administrators’ salaries, the facilities arms race, etc., all which also take donor money endlessly and create an unfair advantage for large schools. But as soon as the athletes get paid a taxable dollar everyone loses their shit.

I’m genuinely curious why that is.
Same reason TJamz likes latin American child slave labor in his gold mines.... control.

Very smart. Made $200 million coaching football. But when some players get a piece of the action, he out.

I genuinely would be curious to hear what the athletes have to say about it. I mean you get to hear from everyone who’s not an athlete about how they think it’s the end of the living world. As if they should have a say anyway, most of them have gotten richer due to the past setup.

Not just the athletes in line for a 6 figure payday, either. I would guess most athletes don’t like the state of things right now. Your teammate makes all conference, gets a text and then he’s gone forever. Odds are he won’t even find another team, he just got excited because someone was gassing his dad up.

The system needs a fix but it is obviously clear that the athletes need a place at the table as well. And as much bitching and moaning as this idea will get, they need the ability to collectivize also. All the other parties do. One of the many cute benefits of not allowing athletes the same rights as workers.

Or you can artificially hold them down and wait for the next black market to pop up.

Yeah, but it is what he did. I’ll let you figure out what’s more important.
