The sports complex did not require any additional mills, so nobody really cares

The schools will fail because most people dont have kids that use schools

The dome got a majority vote with the sports complex under construction. I think combining projects doomed it. Maybe they should do a better job selling it next time

It's a shame in a way, because this is the first time the school board has shown any balls in dealing with the low enrollment schools, the poor physical plant of some, and the boundary issues. But they're already getting the lion's share of everyone's property taxes, so I don't see it passing, either...

Agreed on all 3 points x 1000. Succinct messaging is key. Of course, leave the convention center OUT. I don't want to get started on the DOME failed vote again. I know I repeat myself a lot around here but I am just coming to grips with the failed vote, but BOTTOM LINE....the DOME people have to put themselves in the mindset/place of the average Fargoan, many of whom do not follow DOME stuff and City stuff closely. I hate to say FARGODOME For Dummies. A better phrase would be FARGODOME Cliff Notes. And slip the Q and A/Cliff Notes sheet into the water bill before the vote. (taking a neutral stance of course... just explaining things). I am writing a letter with that very suggestion to R.S. and the DOME people.

Yea the school vote does not look promising with lower enrollments. Regarding public school education, obviously there are kids in private schools, some are being homeschooled or never had kids. But even those who have kids, the window of time you have children in public schools is relatively short. If you have 2 or 3 kids, spaced a year or two apart, it may be only 14 or 16 years. So the majority of our adults years, we do not have kids in school.

Having said that, we ALL should care a LOT about our public school system, whether you have kids there or not. We all know that on BV because we have big picture mentality, but there are definitely some others who do not follow school board issues even remotely.

Isn’t the whole of ND landlocked?
    Don't believe everything you think.
