The Bison opened up the passing game this year and tried to stretch the field horizontally to clear out the 9 man boxes. Last season all the opponents loaded the box and we couldn't pass well enough to get them out of it. This season Cam played very well and worked very hard during the offseason to improve. If our passing game didn't improve this year the offense would have struggled mightily.

Even back in the days of the veer the Bison had to add in a passing attack when Simdorn was the QB.

You have to give yourselves a chance by being unpredictable on offense or you are going to struggle to move the ball.

TE drag routes across the middle or any pass over the middle will stop them from stacking the box. For some reason we have an aversion for throwing over the middle.

That's funny because hardly anyone stacked the box against us unless Cole was in shotgun.

    That is not true.

Maybe you should watch the games! 7-8 in the box almost all the time. Still need to open up with passes in the middle of the field. When we did a slant it aways when for big yardage. Need to use the TE and more screens.

The play I missed from back in day was when we went heavy with 2 TE on about the 10 yard line and motioned or put them both on 1 side of the ball with 1 just off line of scrimmage to be legal. Then would run skinny posts for both of them into endzone. I think these were the Vaadeland and Bonnet days and both seemed open often to score TDs.

Yeah but just because Cole was in at shotgun doesn’t mean we are going to make him run.
