I've only been here a month therefore my perspective is different. But in that month I've had discussions where I am really thinking that the other person really sucks and human nature made me place them in the 'I don't like them' category, and then in another thread on a different topic they post something that I really appreciate. So I think that in one way or another every single member contributes in their own way which makes this place what it is. Like every unique patch in a quilt! I don't want anyone gone simply because they make someone else feel butt-hurt, because sooner or later we would all be gone. We can certainly all coexist, and if you don't think you can, perhaps a little bit of the blame is on you?

Consider, if you will, that part of the reason many on here feel the way they do about him is because they haven’t had to put up with it for a mere month or year… We’re talking over a decade, bud.

I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but its really hard to take month’s worth of perspective on this issue very seriously.

Sometimes it is just prudent to yield to the accumulated wisdom of those more significantly experienced than oneself.
    Don't believe everything you think.

You have to understand he thrives on the attention. He has no shame.he lives for this.
If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles"

It is characteristic of the unlearned that they are forever proposing something which is old, and because it has recently come to their own attention, supposing it to be new.

I have no problem being in the minority. I was always with the 'in crowd' in high school, and looking back that is one of my regrets.
Besides, my reply would be the same if anyone else's name were in place of Lakes.

I appreciate this post because you admit that your perspective is different due to your short time here, but that, to a degree, everyone has something to contribute. Maybe Lakes is extremely low on the totem pole of positive contributions but just because some of you long-term posters have been here a long while doesn't mean short-term posters' ideas are invalid.

I don’t believe that high school popularity is analogous to this situation.

No one said your ideas are invalid. We’re just saying we’ve been around here a lot longer and probably have a better read on the situation. If you asked 2 people what they think about someone’s character, would you trust the person who’s known them for 1 year or someone who’s known them for 10 years?
