    Kolpack made an interesting point in the Kolpack and Izzo Podcast for this game preview about the coaching situation, comparing this current situation to when we made an outside hire against an existing coach who was much more popular with the players and the fans: The year was 2003, the hire was Craig Bohl, and the existing coach was Gus Bradley.

    Worked out pretty well for everyone.

    I agree with this, I believe I heard Sam Herder say players in the championship get an extension waiver on the transfer portal so they can finish the season before entering the portal.

    This was mentioned earlier in the week too. However the recent history of 2003 success was a bit different than it is now.
