If I could take a stab at this, I think it comes from him being kind of a rah rah guy and motivator and the players seem to like him? I’m not saying that’s ALL you need to be as an HC by any means, but maybe from a superficial standpoint that’s what people see.

Who knows, maybe he also doesn’t sound like he’s been chain smoking after games.

The advantages of this are really underrated. Think of how effective a coach Entz could be if his players could understand him when he spoke?

Players portal and gone coaches move on and stay for the rest of the season?

I do agree with Unbison "NDSU policy is if you are a player and hit the transfer portal, you're gone asap" but Entz stays through Frisco ?

It’s weird. The defensive coordinator that they hired a week ago doesn’t have an assistant head coach title.

I could easily be wrong, but I think the power structure at USC goes like this:

Head Coach (1)
O/D Coordinator (2)
Associate Head Coach (1)
Assistant Head Coach (3)
Position-only Coach (5)

There are also Offensive and Defensive Passing Game Coordinators and I don't know how they fit into the scheme. One is also an Assistant HC while the other only has position responsibilities.

Currently they've got one too many coaches, so someone on the current staff must be leaving. (Limit is 11, and they've got 10 listed with Entz and the new DC not listed yet.)
