Does seem to be the only NCAA sanctioned entertainment that is allowed to have schools whose other sports are intramural level at best.

Why is that honestly? Only way to create a division large enough for a ciche special interest sport?

Some of the more successful schools in our subdivision complaining about money does not bode well for the direction of FCS.

It does seem like NDSU really pushed the envelope on everyone. Early/Mid 2010’s FCS was by far the peak for subdivision in terms of quality. Since then teams have either moved up or become less competitive. SDSU is the only exception. The Montanas have been able to hold on and had a couple good years but that’s not out of the norm for them.

Any school that was sitting on latent fan or institutional potential has already maxed it out in the arms race.

All about attendance (which indicates support).

EWU doesn't really have the fanbase size to support their expenditures, simple as that.
Schools like Montana, Montana St, NDSU, SDSU will be fine.

FBS schools like FIU, UMass, and SHSU will also continue to struggle for the same reasons.
I keep wondering when FIU will shutter their program, they've been begging for used pads/equipment from other schools recently.

This will be a new trend... and we'll see some universities completely throw in the towel. The game... is no longer a game.

If you wore the uniform...you're a champion.

Agree first part is likely. Second a bit dramatic. The structure of payments and recruiting is being shaken up around the game. As usual the rich will get richer as a result.
