Our old friend, Greg Kampe and Oakland trying to upset Kentucky.
North Dakota State, a football team the big boys of college football should avoid like the plague, helped christen a $90 million renovation to Snyder Family Stadium — including a statue of famed Kansas State coach Bill Snyder himself — by taking a sledgehammer to the place.

Love to see Kampe getting that win, guys like him is what made our league so much fun to watch. Sad how far we are from those days.
NDSU to the FBS always. In all ways.

Between him and Sutton they played the NDSU (student) crowd and think they actually enjoyed it most of the time. It was always good for entertainment along with the good basketball their teams played.

Funny to think not too very long ago, we were beating JMU in football, and no one knew they even had a basketball team.

Now they are top 25 in football and beating Wisconsin in the NCAA tourney.

They have taken the polar opposite path as NDSU

Makes a difference if an athletic department actually cares about basketball and understands how to appeal to other conferences as part of a bigger plan.

#12 seed Grand Canyon takes down #5 seed St Mary’s in the 1st round.
GCU won against NDSU by 15 back in November.
Really good team! 30-4 on the season.

While yes, this is true and reiterates my frustrations with Matt Larson and the entire athletic department over the past 5 years.

But check out this article on how much JMU has raised their student fees to subsidize their recent FBS transition and other athletic department successes:
    https://www.sportico.com/leagues/col...on-1234771980/

JMU's student fees that subsidize the athletic department were $53.3 Million in 2023! That is just insanity.
    From the article:
It’s bigger than the total 2023 athletics operating budget for more than 40 FBS schools, and almost equal to James Madison’s entire athletics budget the prior year ($57.8 million).
If NDSU were to ever even think about proposing something like this, there would be riots in the streets.

    They have leadership, we don't.
