My gut was right. Convention Center passes since it only needed 50% +1

The Fargodome fails, although the margin of loss was surprisingly worse.

The dome will need to get creative in funding. Between the earnings on the 40+ million dollar surplus, naming rights and maybe a user fee, they should be able to finance something. Especially if NDSU backers can fundraise something . They should be able to come up with some sort of private public partnership

The FMCVB did a great job getting their message out. I'm excited to see what the bids look like

NDSU will likely have to fund any future stadium itself.
    Lodging tax passed....BARELY.

Which is mind boggling to me and shows you that the marketing efforts to pass these measures are built by interns or complete idiots.

The measure for the lodging tax is only a tax that is put on hotel stays...which are used by people OUTSIDE of Fargo 99.9999999% of the time.

Yet, it barely passed, when it should have been a no brainer.

Why? Because people in Fargo saw "tax" and voted no, not fully understanding how the tax would work. And that is due to complete incompetence of marketing from the FM Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Charley Johnson is still completely clueless on how to have his team run an effective marketing campaign, and it's honestly mind boggling.

I completely disagree with FMCVB getting their message out.

It passed by the hair on a ball sack.

Should have been overwhelmingly easy to pass

They better start coming up with a plan for replacing it now cause it's going to take them 25 years to figure out the funding for it. Things 32 years old and was outdated the day it was finished. Can't even get a $110M renovation done to a building that brings how much revenue to the city? Every business in town should have been pushing for this thing! Fargo seems to be going backwards as a community.

The FMCVB barely passed and the only reason it did is because the tax wasn’t direct to the voters. Great job is a huge stretch. My caution to FMCVB is if this building doesn’t go downtown where the voters have given millions of dollars for development there will be pushback on this project and city commissioners on future development asks.

This right here. Whoever built this thing first screwed up big time when they built it. Go small and go home lol

The ripple who built it were/are the people of Fargo. The same ones who refuse to pay to update it.

I voted no because of the same reason. We would need another vote in 10 years.

I've been saying this all along. The Dome renovation campaign was a cluster fuck from the start. From the plans to the marketing it was pretty clear they didn't know what they were doing. Will they learn their lesson? I sure hope so, but I kind of doubt it.

Put that $35M Fargodome surplus into TSLA and BTC - might be able to build a new stadium with it in 10 years.
