I would have to agree with that. The penalty of having a transfer sit for a season seemed to keep the portal in check.

AGreed. When NIL was allowed, there should have been a rule where you can transfer but have to sit out a year. (pretty sure thats how it used to be before, right?)

That would drastically cut down on the number of kids leaving after a year for better money.

Since all of these morons think student athletes are university employees, universities need to start treating them like employees. Every single recruitment acceptance letter and scholarship contract needs to include a 1 year non-compete clause. Problem solved.

Yeah, except non competes are not actually legally binding.

They absolutely are in most jurisdictions, the FTC is trying to ban them, but that is very likely to be struck down in court as it was already put on by a federal judge injunction.

Ironically, ND is one of the very few states that ban them.

Most that are enforceable are limited to 50 or maybe 100 miles. Don’t think they would matter much in college sports.

NDSU needs to talk to ESPN and get some of the expansion images to run during the game. The production team always takes some local video and talks about it during the games after commercial breaks

That is a solid idea. Find the crew, tweet them some links. I’d do it but you know, too lazy and don’t tweet.

Not sure if this has been shared yet but Team Makers sent out an email with a link to some good info about the proposed renovations along that includes a bunch of renderings: https://www.fargodome.com/about-us/learnmore

    Here's a few of them:

I don't know what the answer is. Between NIL and transfers, college athletics in general are starting to circle the drain, IMO. But I do think this expansion, much like the SHAC, is poorly thought out, and that seems to be confirmed by the fact that less than a month before the vote they still haven't publicized any new details since separating from the convention center. If they've done anything to make this more appealing to voters other than shuffling around where the money comes from, I haven't seen it. And if I haven't, I'm pretty sure the people who already voted no haven't either.
Could not agree more with the bolded. I also see this getting passed and then in 10 years something needs to happen again. I would much rather vote on something long term versus this which is why I am voting no on the lipstick option.
