Notre Dame had a multi-year starter leave a year early a few years back because he had landed a job with the FBI or something. Kinda fun when a guy leaves eligibility on the table for a "good" reason.

FWIW: My own ear being to the ground I'm aware of at least two "significant" (and obviously under-the-table) offers out to NDSU football players.

The portal situation is real for everyone. Loyalty and NFL Draft success only go so far. This is a pretty important defensive weapon
