It has been frustrating to watch the Bluejays-Bison matchups previously……
Here is to hoping for better this time……perhaps more competitive for a longer stretch…
One thing that gives me a little encouragement is Andrew Morgan being willing to set a real pick. Haven’t seen a Bison do that in years……Coach McDermott has taken advantage of Rocky Kreuser’s fly-by picks in the past, totally ignoring them knowing Rocky just wanted to set up for a three point shot. Against a P6 team, the Bison ball handlers may need help to break into the lane, so hopefully Morgan helps in this regard. And hopefully Morgan stays out of foul trouble, but that worries me in a match-up like this.
Former Jackrabbit/current Blue Jay Baylor Scheierman is back - again - for what seems like his 8th season, plus two other returning starters:
The nucleus of the team is formed by three returning starters as senior center Ryan Kalkbrenner (15.9 ppg., 6.1 rpg., 2.1 bpg., 69.5 FG% last year), senior forward Baylor Scheierman (12.8 ppg., 8.3 rpg., 3.3 apg.) and junior guard Trey Alexander (13.6 ppg., 41.0 3FG%) all put their professional aspirations on hold and came back.
