WMU led the MAC in rebounding differential last year so winning that edge was huge. They also had a lot of turnover from a bad team last year. Who knows how good they'll be. Head coach had been the assistant head coach for Michigan State before taking over last year. Time will tell if this was a good win.

Crieghton women ranked #6 Nebraska ranked #9 WMU ranked #318 and missed a FT and didn't block out to lose a game. quite the difference wouldn't ya say?

just another game that keeps richman around like the last 10 years.

Just enjoy the win. We normally lose that game.

I'm not sure there's much to criticize about Dave last night. He wasn't missing layups and FTs. We need to get better contesting the 3 pointer and cutting down turnovers, but we showed toughness on the boards. And, no, I'm not a Richman apologist.
North Dakota State, a football team the big boys of college football should avoid like the plague, helped christen a $90 million renovation to Snyder Family Stadium — including a statue of famed Kansas State coach Bill Snyder himself — by taking a sledgehammer to the place.

Shouldn’t be no excuses you criticize Richmond when he doesn’t beat a Kansas or Arkansas

Gutty win. Heart on the glass made up for missed shots. Promising things to see IMHO.

Started, played early, went 0-5 and Dave pulled him and got Jacari involved and then Jacari got hot and couldn't take him back off the floor. If Waddles can figure out how to get his shots to fall in a game like they do in practice, the exhibition or even when they were in Costa Rica this team will be really explosive, not sure why he's struggling in real game situations.

All in all, ugly game, especially early but the hustle and effort was there and showed on the glass. Couldn't hit the broadside of a barn in the first 10 minutes or so and the FT shooting was atrocious, Andrew Morgan actually shot 75% from the line which was nice to see but he was the only one that was solid and unfortunately he couldn't get anything else to go around the rim. The worse part was probably 5 or 6 of the FT misses were the front end of 1 and 1s, we left a lot of points at the line. The positives, for the most part the offense flowed well and we got to the rim and we got open looks, the shots will start to go as the guys settle into the season. The rebounding was fantastic, there were a few defensive possessions we'd like back but that's the most offensive boards I've seen our team grab in a long time, if we can keep that up it'll help us win a lot of games. Jacari put the team on his back a bit and Boden was solid after the first 10 minutes or so. This team has a lot of depth, Hastreiter still banged up didn't even play so we'll be 11 deep and I think this team is going to ride the hot hand game in and out, last night it was Jacari, could be Miller, Waddles or anybody else going forward. Should be a fun team to watch, Burke brings a lot of energy and is fun to watch, looks like we finally landed a transfer again that will really contribute. Cupcake game Wednesday against Mount Marty before a huge early season test against Creighton and then remaining road trip against UC Davis and Montana.

Side note, both ORU and SDSU lost the openers. SDSU played a really solid Akron team but ORU lost to UT Arlington who is not very good. NDSU was the only Summit team to open the season with a win against a D1 opponent so it was an important W to start the year.
