Joe Chapman and Gene Taylor would have had NDSU moved to the FBS by now. They were bold and had a vision for the future. Without their leadership there wouldn't have been 9 straight FCS titles. After about 3 titles they would have been working their butts off to make the move. Political pressure from the UND crowd in state leadership wanted Chapman gone because he wasn't a 'team' player. He did whatever he wanted to promote NDSU. The president's house issue was just used to get him gone. The problem with this coaching staff would never have been allowed to happen. The leadership at NDSU is a total vacuum. President... AD... to name two.
