heffray’s Game Notes:
- Betting line (care of https://madduxsports.com/college-football-lines.php, thank you, TSCF!…) : NDSU -37.5, O/U 61.5
- It will be interesting to see how NDSU responds at home to a team they are favored by 4+ scores, and will also be interesting to see if there are any key positions filled by underclassmen at the start of the game, or if they get rotated in early, or even get full drives early
- I give the Offense a lot of crap (and deservedly so, Roehl is horrible situationally, especially in the Red Zone and on 3rd and short), but I’ll be paying close attention to the Defense today… I’m not expecting a shut-out or even holding them to 10 points like others have done, but I am looking to see some good play in key positions, LB and D Line specifically. Can our LBs solo tackle in space? Can the edge get home? Can the middle stop the run?
- I think NDSU won’t have any problem scoring on this one, particularly because I don’t think Roehl will have many, if any, situations where he needs to call the right play on 3rd and short or Goal to go type situations… so I think they’ll get 50, but I see our coaches letting the underclassmen stretch their legs a little (well, kinda hoping they do actually) so I bet Western will actually score a couple TDs here… but I’ll take the good guys on spread and overall points.
- NDSU 52, WIU 14
