    Default WIU Preview

So WIU's best game was against FBS New Mexico State (they were down 14-20 at half.)

They average only 32 yards rushing per game - last in the FCS. They're probably looking to improve that against NDSU.
They are also 107th against the run on defense. It'll be interesting to see if our non-QB running game can take advantage of this.

Statistically, they are better at punt return defense and kickoff return defense (NDSU is #115 in kick return defense.)

I don't like either of the next 2 games, because I feel it's going to mask the issues on the defense.

Get some young guys reps, get Cole and Julian healthy, be disciplined and focus on basic execution. Establish an identity!!!

Oh yeah, storm the field twice.
North Dakota State, a football team the big boys of college football should avoid like the plague, helped christen a $90 million renovation to Snyder Family Stadium — including a statue of famed Kansas State coach Bill Snyder himself — by taking a sledgehammer to the place.

    Sagarin #237
    Blown out by NMSU (#137)
    Lost to Lindenwood (#232)

Missouri St beat them 48-7, UND 49-10 the week prior.

Hopefully this gives the team an opportunity to fix the defense.
Looking at other scores, we should easily win this game 35-0.
If we give up more than a touchdown or 50 yards rushing I will be concerned.

Totally agree. I hope the coaches and more importantly the players are aware of the fool's gold they are about to unearth the next two weeks.

I've realized that some day I'll see my last Bison win, so I've decided that I'm going to focus on program total wins and enjoy every single one I get to see (we're at 778, btw.)

This will serve me well if NDSU goes FBS too. Not to mention that if I demand that players and coaches be 100% committed, how can I not demand it from myself?

i don't storm fields though... but I'm eager to see a scenario where I'll feel compelled to do so.

Julian is liability on defense and somehow we are worse without him.
This is not 'Nam. This is Bisonville. There are rules here.

Main thing I'm looking forward to is the $80-100k 50/50 raffle jackpot.

WIU has a couple decent receivers.
Can they keep their QB upright (sacked 5, hurried 7, at UND).

I will need to win this to pay for my game travel the next couple of years.
