I think that they have a much larger reach than you are suggesting. Sure, they draw Bison or sports fans in general but when they lead the evening news or write articles on page 1 of the newspaper (and its website), that does have a much larger influence. Remember that the percentage of NDSU fans is actually quite small in comparison to the Fargo area. Many people want NDSU to fail or are apathetic to NDSU.

NDSU fans could win the election by themselves if TM and vote yes groups do some outreach. The dome is 1 of 3 voting locations and it's on campus. Students will still be there Dec 6th.

3 days before the election we will likely have a playoff game to inform people.

Only 15k people voted in the last primary and this is a single issue. Are people so opposed to this, they will turn out in mass? I doubt it. My biggest concern is creating some passion to support the project

I can usually get a good pulse on how people are feeling and I have a good vibe. But not a great one due to a mediocre vision by the campaign folks

This is a no brainer for me. I am voting YES!! Will the improvements benefit game days at NDSU, absolutely. But will it also benefit everything else that takes place there, again, absolutely. The revenue the dome brings to Fargo is well worth the added sales tax. I agree that communication on how its being funded, the benefits to the community, and the overall look of the remodel will have to be better and The think it t will as the vote gets closer.

My vote will be no… we all pay enough tax
I don’t honestly see what I gain… maybe a seat tax could fund it

IMHO, this will make attending events more enjoyable just with the additional bathrooms and concourse space.
It's OK to not be OK.

While i am definitely not for the overall theory that raising taxes solves problems; complaining about the cost of this doesn’t make sense to me. Of the 131 million dollar price tag; 40 million is being paid by the Fargodome, part of it is being paid by a 3% increase in the lodging tax, which would almost all be paid for by non residents, and a 1/4 cent city sales tax. Do the math. If you spend $100, you would pay an additional 25 cents more then before. This is not a massive tax burden people.

I am with unbison at this point. I will be voting no. We aren't going FBS anytime soon anyways. Why do I care that press boxes get their own bathrooms plus the no wifi is BS.

It would be interesting to me to see projections on the potential increase in revenue to the city, what that does to the overall tax base and what the overall gain is to city residents vs. what a typical resident would likely pay. My guess is that the extra couple hundred bucks that would be paid by a quarter cent sales tax would be offset dramatically by the revenue that helps the overall tax base.
