It’s actually bigger, and I’m not sure it’s close. Would anyone trade that win for a 10th title? The amount of press coverage and media clout we got from that FAAAAAR outpaces beating Montana state or eastern Washington, or literally anyone in the FCS title game.
College football writers will remember us beating Iowa and or K-State forever. They have no clue who played in the FCS national title in 2016

It was an amazing atmosphere with tons of green and yellow in the stands. Some jack arse Hawkeye fan in front of us was talking smack all game and had to eat crow badly at the end.

Not trying to put the cart before the horse, but it would be hard to script a more satisfying way to win a national championship than this. Beating Montana, and Montana State in their own house, getting revenge on USD in their own house, and then beating the bunnies to ruin the season for the best team, and best season they’ve ever had.
A lot of stuff has to go right between now and then though lol
1. The FCS was the Best option for NDSU for a very long time.
2. As a general rule- the FCS sucks at football and has proven that is not committed to football at all.
3. It's time to go FBS
