Unpopular opinion: I would rank last years SDSU team above this years, despite the 7-3 loss @Kinnick.

I think this years team is better even though they lost Kraft. Maybe last years defense was after losing Sanders and Winkelman.

I don't know how unpopular it is, they were obviously better, though last year's team should have lost at the Fargodome if not for a comedic series of a poor penalty call leading to a stupid call INT and which led to ridiculously timid 2nd half playcalling... The problem SDSU has in the historical rankings though is the strength of FCS competition has dropped precipitously overall and there's only a single handful of teams left that have a realistic chance of making the semis.

No different in FBS, maybe it's the natural order of things.

I just see the MVFC and Big Sky as the "P2" of FCS now. For the CFP final tonight, we essentially have two B1G teams playing each other. Watch all 6 of the CFP at large teams come from B1G and SEC next year, and they will complain that's not enough.

Any attempt to quantify or qualify what NDSU has done vs what anyone has done is futile.

They should have asterisked those who had additional nattys in addition to the back-to-backs. And then listed them.
