NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?![]()
The conference should be weaker, but they lost some big contributors with Tanchin and Glover. If the youngsters up front improve, they could do as well or better this year. Boling and Ally Barth combined with Hinze offers a chance to have a really good attack, but Boling will need to be more consistent.
Everything will rely on Kelley Johnson to perform well and stay healthy. Eke Deneson had a severe health issue when the team took their trip to Europe. She was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) and has a long road to recover and get back on the court.
NDSU opens their season with UC Riverside tonight at 8pm on ESPN+ https://www.espn.com/espnplus/player...b-48c9527c6f68
NDSU was picked to finish 2nd in the conference behind the defending champs, USD. Reigning conference setter of the year Kelley Johnson returns as does all conference OH Ali Hinze. They return standout libero Logan O'Brien and all freshman team member Ally Barth.
I'll be curious to see how they adjust for the loss of Syra Tanchin, who was a focal point of the offense, but I'm hopeful the team will be on par or better than last year's squad.
Disregard, the stream is broken and now there is no video, which is frustrating.
From the starting lineups and early stats, Freshman Ariana Blohm started and is being featured offensively early.
Bison win the first set over UCRiverside 25-19.
Bison up 2 sets to 1, as they play in set #4.
Bison Win tonight 3-1.
