The Mavericks come to Fargo fresh off a 16-1 shellacking of Big Ten member Penn State for another 3-game set with the Bison, needing a strong finish in their final 7 games (all o the road) to push the Jacks for the #3 seed in the Summit League Tournament. The Bison come in Friday riding an 8-game winning streak and holding a firm grip on the #2 seed for the post-season.
The Bison took 2 of 3 from UNO in the earlier meeting at Tal Anderson Field in Omaha, winning game one 10-2, dropping game two 7-6, and winning the series with a 7-2 victory in game three.

LAST TIME OUT
NDSU blanked Northern Colorado, 10-0, in seven innings to earn the series sweep on Sunday. The Bison totaled 11 hits as a team with Terrell Huggins connecting on a game-high three in four at-bats. He also added two RBI and one run to his stat line. Parker Puetz (2-0) notched his first career complete game and shutout tossing five strikeouts over 7.0 innings with one walk.

DON'T LOOK NOW, BUT HERE COME THE BISON
After starting the season with a 1-16 overall record and battling through a 13-game losing streak, the Bison have bounced back with an 18-10 mark over their last 28 games. NDSU has also assembled a 13-5 mark in conference play and enter the week positioned second in the conference. The Bison are currently on a season-best eight game win streak and have won five of the first six Summit League series after sweeping Northern Colorado last week."


"THE SERIES VS. OMAHA
This will be the 101st all-time meeting between NDSU and Omaha dating back to 1978 with the two teams splitting each of the last 10 meetings, 5-5. The Bison took the series earlier this season after winning the finale, 7-2, in Omaha, Neb. Peter Brookshaw paced NDSU going 3-of-5 at the plate with two home runs and three RBI.
