The Bison got another great start from Cade Feeney (5-4, 4.60 ERA), who went 8 shutout innings before he gave way to the Bison closer Skylar Riedinger to pitch the 9th. Maverick starter Preston Tenney (5-5, 5.06 ERA) pitched into the 7th before being removed from the game with 2 on and 1 out. Omaha reliever Joel Benes got the Mavericks out of the inning without giving up a run when he coaxed a groundball double play by the Bison.
The Bison scored the first 2 runs of the game in the bottom of the 1st inning on a Druw Sackett 2-run homerun. They added a single run in the 4th inning and the score remained that way until a Maverick error plated 2 more runs for the Herd in the bottom of the eighth inning to put this one away.

    Bison: (20-26) (14-5) - 5 runs on 6 hits, with 1 error and 9 LOB
    Mavericks: (19-23) (7-12) - 0 runs on 4 hits, with 1 error and 5 LOB

Game 2 of the Mom's Day double-header had Tristen Roehrich (5-5, 4.53 ERA) on the bump for the Bison facing Harrison Kreiling (0-2, 4.66 ERA) for UNO. The Bison had the bases loaded with 1 out in the bottom of the 1st inning, but 2 strikeouts left all three runners on base. Control bit Roehrich in the second inning as he walked 2 Mavericks and they both scored in the 4-run top of inning to grab the early lead. The Bison closed to 4-3 in after 6 innings, but the Mavericks put it away with 1 in the eighth, and the winning streak ends at 9.

    Bison: (20-27) (14-6) - 3 runs on 5 hits, with 0 errors and 14 LOB
    Mavericks: (20-23) (8-12) - 5 runs on 11 hits, with 1 error and 8 LOB

    Batteries:
Bison: Tristen Roehrich, Parker Puetz (7), Carson Jacobs (8), Joey Danielson (8) and Stephen Lund
Mavericks: Harrison Kreiling, Luke Gainer (5), Wyatt Sellers (7) and Eduardo Rosario

    WP: Luke Gainer (1-2) (1-0)
    LP: Tristen Roehrich (5-6) (4-1)
    Save: Wyatt Sellers (2)

    Homeruns:

    NDSU: None.
    UNO: None

Bison: Peter Brookshaw 2-3, 2B. Druw Sackett 2 RBI. Jack Steil 1 RBI.
Mavericks: Mike Boeve 2B (2), 2 RBI. Brennen Bales 3-5. Cam Frederick 2-4, 1 RBI. Eduardo Rosario 2 RBI

Next up is the final 3 game set of the regular season, as the Jacks come to town for a Thursday-Friday-Saturday series.
