Other than that we are talking 20+ point wins every time. Plus in 2019, if you could stop Trey Lance from running the ball, you could beat that team. They were so one dimensional that it was almost embarrassing to the rest of the FCS that we won the championship that year.
This is a valuable point. Either of those teams could have been at the top with better coaching/schemes.

2013 was just firing on all cylinders.

Exactly. It's like the argument about Carson being the best QB in NDSU history. He may have been the most talented but there's really no comparison between what he did and what Easton and Brock did. And in terms of dominating at the QB position, Benny was still tops but admittedly the game was different then.

Also, without a doubt personally, I think Phil Hansen was the single most dominant player in his position in my time. I didn't really see the team before 1982 or so, so I can't speak to those players. However, Phil consistently required double and triple teaming by the opposition, sometimes still unsuccessfully, and totally opening up other players to make plays all the time. Of all of the players that get tagged with the "man amongst boys" label, Phil is the one that deserved the moniker the most. If you have any doubts, go back and watch some of the games from the 1990 season that are on Youtube and just watch the amount of havoc he raised on every defensive down. It's pretty absurd.
    Insert something clever here...

I’m going to go with the 2020 team who only got to play 1 game due to COVID.

As far as I am concerned the only legitimate options are 2013, 2018 and 2019.

Of those I go 2019, 2013, 2018. I felt and still do that 2020 would have been on another tier onto itself.

. I'll go with 1986 or 88. CAS was there.
