The locker room sales were nice. Last year I picked up a like-new hooded winter jacket from the women's soccer team for $20 and Mrs. Hammerhead bought some warm-up pants.

A lot of programs have scrapped the idea of a Spring game. Many reasons why. Purdue is doing some stadium remodeling for example, but could have held it many other places like they've done before.

Spring games are boring and awkward to watch. Coaches don't like them either because they count as an official practice that is basically wasted since they have to put it on for the spectacle.

If they really want fan engagement spring games should go the route of the Pro Bowl where playing an actual tackle football game is scrapped for more unique and fun experiences. Flag football between the DBs and the WRs, long toss and accuracy competition for the QBs, 40 yard dash tournament, tug-of-war between the O-line and D-line, dodgeball, etc

I agree. More complacency by our athletic department. It's like they quit trying and the worse it gets, the worse they get

10 years ago, we'd tailgate and have 7,000 fans in the Fargodome & it was livestreamed free on gobison.com

Now its April 20 and in the IPF all alone and sad............another great swing & miss by our admin


I see USD is still having a game, then having the entire coaching staff out for Post Game Tailgate to meet with fans.
I'd love to see CAS & SDBison squaring off over a Jag Bomb with Entz/Roehl.
think of the money NDSU football could raise for that tag team match!

April 20 events calendar at Fargodome is wiiiiide open, maybe this post will make them reconsider, its been 1 of the longest winters ever, it'd be awesome to tailgate, have some beers and go watch CP15 sling the rock.

Makes me ill, but he's not wrong the spring game was getting bigger every year for awhile. Seems like the decline in interest in the spring game happened about the same time as interest in home football games.

Everyone used to have one. Yes some still do it, but I bet if you asked the coaches for these 10 programs, most would rather not do it.
