Are there any women's championships that operate in the black?

Not at this time. All 5 in the black are men's sports. The women set a record with 9.9 million viewers Sunday night. The men's final last year was 18.1 million, and this year's regional rounds averaged 9.1. The women also play in smaller arenas, so attendance is lower. They do save some expense in earlier rounds by having a school host. I'm not sure where it falls financially, but if they had sustained interest like this year it could possibly be in the black some day.
