There is probably some truth to that but the little part about not being great at any specific spot is probably the more prominent part of that. If you are an elite OT that can play OG and C if needed, you are still going to be highly coveted as that elite OT. I will also say that being a jack of all trades on an offensive line and master of none may not get you the big paychecks but you might stay in the league a long time. Versatile OL players on the 2 deep can have a pretty length career. You can only carry ~4 backup OL on an NFL roster. Having versatility can save a roster spot for the coaches making decisions.
But here's hoping Cody shines in whatever position he lands on, both team situation and OL position.
