Been saying this for literally 10 years. Operation “hope Scarlett Johansson asks us to marry her” is never going to happen. Breaking into the next level, even in a bad conference makes us FAR more likely to get into a good conference later, compared to our dream scenario of the super hot girl randomly asking the Reddit nerd to dance even though we’re not even in the fricken gym.

Matt Entz seems to agree with me, so there’s that.

Good conferences are way more likely to take a BAD FBS program to join them than a good FCS program, simply for the optics of not being a JV conference.

Additionally - If we join a bad G5 conference, we will succeed quicker, and that will allow us to continue the trend of NDSU elevating the competition around them…

It's not the American...but now that the MAC has extended an invite to UMASS, that opens up a spot in Conference USA. Also saw a tweet about the MAC possibly wanting to add three additional teams to even out each of their divisions. Obviously, these are two of the lesser preferred conferences if we were to make the bump up to FBS, but do we at least pick up the phone to place some feelers out there to see if there is mutual interest, just to get our foot in the FBS door?

I don't see the appeal with conference usa. I could see MAC as a fit.

First they would probably want 2 schools to pair up for travel. Second would they really want to bring in teams that would be more than just competitive
