Why are we debating this as I thought we were playing tecmo bowl. Our selection is down to four plays only. Keeps things simple.

We have removed all screen passes from the playbook and I don’t know why. Tyler roehls 80 yard catch/run in the metrodome was actually a screen pass. Seriously make Tyler go back and watch some of the offensive plays from 07 as there were RB and WR screens. Also and actually quite sad but sdsu has better designed plays than us right now.

An awful lot will depend on who gets healthy.

Those drops last night were killers, seemed like 5 or 6 that would've all went for 10-15 yards.

Play calling: we are often painfully predictable which puts us behind schedule and forces us to throw. Cannot just keep running between the tackles with 9 or 10 in the box...audible to play action and give Henderson and Mathis a chance one on one. At least that might open up some running room.

A screen would be great to beat pressure, but Johnson/Williams/Marshall have 8 catches combined....is that because we don't throw to them, or do we not throw to them because they aren't great receivers.

Would also love to see extended use of the delta formation if we have to be in shotgun; so many variations that can be run out of that......

    .....
I have a hard time believing all three of these athletes can’t catch. Just shows how we don’t use our backs effectively. Other teams use quick passes to a rb or wr like a run we need to do that to spread teams out.

Don’t use Vigen playbook either as he was down to four plays this afternoon as well.

Nice to know we can still fire vigen and save season.

If our coaching staff won’t admit there is something very wrong with our passing game, there is something very wrong with our coaching staff.

Admit it and improve on it, ASAP. SDSU passing schemes today were very simple, yet very effective—>mostly play action to TE and RBs, wit a few sideline shots and crossers to WRs. Zero, and I mean zero reason we can’t do exactly the same given our running game.

    Just baffling.

I agree CAS and this is literally the same things we said in 2011 and 2012 with Vigen. U could literally pull up the Fire Vigen Save Season and pull our complaints and just date them for today. Same problem different day. SDSU use their backs really well in the passing game.
