Yeah, if only there was somebody on staff, possibly at each NCAA school, that could be responsible for NCAA violations.

Hmm, maybe they could call them an NCAA Compliance Officer and they could report violations to the NCAA for investigation?

Maybe if the school is big enough, they could have some compliance assistants as well?

If that's not good enough for you, the next option is that the Big 2 says FU and creates their own division or organization

NCAA is probably okay with it. They want Congress to step in and tell them what they can/can't do.

Teams have their own compliance but its the fox guarding the hen house

NCAA has to show some ball and if they want to break apart because they cant follow rules, let them go. Its not like we can get games vs the Big 10

I feel like the NCAA (or rather the schools that comprise it) want Congress to tell the kids what they can/can't do. I doubt the schools want congress directing them in any way, unless that is restricting how the schools themselves can compensate the athletes (which is essentially what the NCAA has set up for itself now). NCAA schools wanna stand by while the money printer goes brrr.

"Us pay the kids? Hmmm sounds like a job for the boosters..."

Lol. Show me where one person has gotten in trouble because of this. I’ll save you the time there isn’t one. It’s the Wild West. Anything goes.

LOL, Congress doing anything. They’re getting ready to sit on their hands while the economy burns down around them.

Perhaps this whole thing would work better if the institution you work for were the ones issuing your paycheck instead of some 3rd party that they’re not supposed to talk to about your compensation.

Yeah but that would introduce responsibility, accountability and increased expenses to the schools. Which is inconvenient.
