Jake contributed by assisting with the defense, I believe he filled a roll that was missing after coaches left and coaches were promoted. Assisted with communication between the on filed and the booth... He was enjoying whatever roll he was playing and you could see that by his demeanor in pregame and on the sidelines. Captain he should be!

The ncaa has opened a pandora's box. NIL will prove to be a disaster for college athletics. A player who transfers should have to sit out a year and also lose a year of eligibility. The FCS... as we've known it... is finished as a quality division. Moving up to the FBS wouldn't necessarily solve anything for NDSU either. Players will try to move up anyways. This whole thing looks pretty ugly for college athletics.

To the players that are leaving... NDSU took a chance on you and hoped that you would develop into an elite player. You were given a scholarship and an opportunity to participate in a dynasty at the FCS level. Many of you were given fair playing time. You should have honored your commitment. Bye

After NDSU beat Montana coach Hauck said with the transfer portal the concern is just fielding a team for next August. I guess he was very right.

He moved on for what he thought was a better opportunity for himself, just like these players. NDSU took a chance on him and gave him an opportunity to participate in a dynasty as you said.

NDSU going FBS doesn't stop that from happening. Kids who want to play P5 will still leave to go play P5. Kids who wanna play for a contender will leave P5 noncontenders.
