I think there is something to this too. In the last 10-15 years the amount of options a person has for almost everything in their everyday life has grown drastically. Watch anything you want, any time you want. Food options on literally every corner of the street. Social media of all kinds. All this creates an entitlement and need for instant gratification. If you don't like what you have, go get something else.
Now that choice has come to college football. The pull of FBS, NIL and being wanted by a "bigger school" is just too much for some.

Yep, most of us know that every school is losing players. What that list doesn't tell me is whether any of those players were starters or projected to be starters.
I do think one thing that is somewhat unique to NDSU is the track record of high caliber players and putting players into the NFL that attracts high level talent that went under the radar and through their play and film are now on other schools radar. But the thing that is really unique to NDSU is the dominance at this level that is now directly impacted by the transfer portal when almost no other factor got in the way.
