Catastrophic insurance used to be a big thing in D1 hoops but has definitely died post NIL.

Athletes can get loss of profit insurance. It is encouraged for those projected in the first 2 rounds. It is also very expensive. For a top 10 projected pick, the premium runs about $30k. I imagine if a nil contract demands playing in a bowl, they will have this insurance baked in.
