Default 16 story building permit on campus?

I am assuming this is a misprint because I doubt we are actually building a 16 story building by the wellness center

Isn't that area (1707 Centennial) already developed?
And isn't that pretty tall that close to Hector?

    Most curious.

1707 Centennial is the Wellness Center's address. Wouldn't be the first expansion.
As long as you're not directly in the flight path most buildings that are feasible in Fargo's weak soil are short enough the FAA doesn't care. From quick googling the FAA has to approve anything over 200 feet in the area, ban of over 250 in line with the runway, and they're try to reduce that to 160. Fargodome is 125 and the high rises are around 110. With a rough estimate of 10 feet per story, this new one would be 160 feet. The new RDO building downtown is 235.

Isn't the Wellness Center a mile away from the nearest runway (and off the descent path?)

The post on the City of Fargo page is a joke, or a hack. There isn't any 16-story building going up.

NDSU Wellness would be between approach for Runways 31 and 36. Not sure of height limits in that slot.

Turns out this is going to be a combo of the athletic village, a giant extreme waterpark, a new multi story athletics lounge and the home of a cannabis research facility. It will connect to the Fargodome with a skyway system

TBD. They are doing a safety study given the 16 story drop will be extreme. They may need to build some sort of high speed elevator
