Sac St. is the most fascinating; paper tiger or actual title contender? I watched Weber/EWU last night. Weber defense is legit and they have a pretty high octane offense now. Not the Weber I remember. Would not be at all surprised if they win the league.

The UM Fizz have had a vanilla schedule so far; the meat of the schedule starts in two weeks. Sac State in Sacramento on the 22nd; Weber State in Ogden on the 29th; then EWU November 12 and finish with the Brawl in Bozeman on the 19th. If the UM wins out, look out......minimum 2 seed or even a possible 1, depending, of course, how our beloved Bison finish. I see 2 losses for the Griz.

So I looked at how the FCS top 25 stacked up in the year end Sagarin Ratings all the way back to 2006 excluding 2020. The last three years 2018, 19 and 21 are the bottom 3 in terms of the average position. 2017 was 6th worst. Only 2011 and 2015 were poorer.

    2014 was the best year followed by 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2008.

If 2010 was great, 2011 was poor, 2014 was best, 2015 was poor this feels a bit like a cyclical thing.
Would love to see this graphed out over a 10 or 20 year period.

2014 Was the best year for the FCS by this measure of quality. Since then it's a pretty straight line.

Sac State and Weber deserve a top 4 spot in the polls until they lose a game. SDSU at #1 no question. Montana should be at 6.
