Ok, it's a high bar, but the team needs to quit with the cockiness and earn their own respect. False starts, dumb penalties, missed opportunities, and too much look at me celebrations. Show some pride, suck it up, and get better.

I will say in the Arizona game our cockiness was way more than usual and reminded me a little of the Hurricanes of the 80's. I don't mind cockiness, but we do need to tone it back a little and this includes the coaches comments sometimes.
    If it flies it dies.

Long for the days of freezing in the south stands of Dacotah Field.

Editorial note: Don't believe the bullshit that FCS is as good as ever. The top teams are down significantly in rank than in other years.

    1. The FCS was the Best option for NDSU for a very long time.
    2. As a general rule- the FCS sucks at football and has proven that is not committed to football at all.
    3. It's time to go FBS

I think it is probably true that relative quality of FCS is down. It only makes sense every time a team moves up that’s an extra 85 scholarships sucking talent up with them.

Curious to see the final rankings from last season compared to 2012. Not sure how heavily regressed the preseason rankings are and how long and strongly they play in the rankings so perhaps more robust to compare from the same time of each year.

So 2012 season end to 2021 season end top 25: average rank down 8.5 slots, median down 12 slots (which is really just the 13th ranked team now that I think about it so not sure how valuable that is in this context). Perhaps I’ll go deeper this weekend if I have an opportunity.

Kind of apples to oranges to compare week 5 to end of season. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't FCS typically trend down as the season goes along while FBS trend upward? Based mainly on SOS from here on out? Playoffs give FCS a chance for a bit of and end of season bounce because the SOS increases?
