Kelley Johnson was named the conference's setter of the year, and Michelle Artis (Glover), Syra Tanchin, and Ali Hinze all were also named first team all conference. Ally Barth was named to the all-freshmen team and I'd argue Logan O'Brien has played at an all-conference level too. Pretty impressive accomplishments and hopefully they make a run at the conference title.

NDSU sweeps UND and moves to the Summit semifinals. First two sets were a good battle and NDSU rolled in set 3.

Ladies win set 3 vs Davidson and lead 2-1 heading to the 4th on ESPN+

NDSU led set number 4 18-13, 20-16, and 22-19, but wind up losing the set 23-25. Service reception fell apart and there swings were rough and tight late. Really fell apart in that set.

Headed to set 5.

Should be noted they are playing without 1st team all conference MB Michelle Artis (Glover) and largely filling her role with more Morgan Middleton and Alex Lyle, who have been very seldomly used deep bench depth throughout the year.

NDSU loses set 5 15-13 and loses the match 3-2, ending their season. Still, a 21 win season and any postseason appearance was a huge turnaround. Logan O'Brien was ridiculous today at libero.

Next year's offense will probably run through the middle a little more, as Ally Barth looks like she'll be a star and Alexis Boling is probably the third option after Barth and Hinze.

Nora Raasch retired from collegiate athletics, so NDSU will lose Artis, Tanchin, Raasch, and possibly Johnson and Schmoll, who both could come back because of the free Covid year

Syra Tanchin is in the portal. She completed 4 years at NDSU and got her degree an is my favorite non-Lopez NDSU VB player.

Interested to see where she chooses, and if she does indeed play somewhere else for a year of grad school.
