Keep an eye on Adam Leininger from Shanley. I believe he is only a Junior to be.

Congratulations to Zak Endres on being named All State. Zak finished the season with 49 IP, school record 77 Ks allowing only 19 BB , with an ERA 2.00. Zak is continuing his academic and baseball career at NDSU.

per Facebook... seems like a pretty high draft pick?

The New York Mets have selected incoming freshman pitcher Jonah Tong in the 7th round of the MLB Draft

As the MLB draft is structured nowadays, 95% + of draft picks in the Top 10 rounds sign - teams have a very good idea of what it will take to sign a player via communications ahead of the draft

7th-rder Jonah Tong signs with @Mets for $226k (full slot 209 value). Georgia HS RHP, Canadian kid, came on late & stood out in @mlbdraftleague, fastball to 96 mph, flashes plus high-spin curveball. North Dakota State recruit.

So the only question was if Tong would get more than slot money, which apparently he did not.

Not recruiting, but did not want to start a thread for the MLB Draft.
That begins Sunday, going through Tuesday. It is only 20 rounds this year,
as compared to 50 in recent pre-Covid years. That reduces the chances
of a Bison being drafted, but ya never know…

This article picks out each state’s best draft prospect:

    https://www.mlb.com/news/best-2023-m...draft-coverage

North Dakota: Carson Jacobs, RHP, North Dakota State
The 6-foot-9 hurler sits 90-94 with his fastball but can run it up to 97 on occasion. He also wields a low-80s gyro slider for another look. The 21-year-old’s 41 walks in 41 innings this spring left a lot to be desired, though, and any organization would be betting purely on his size and stuff.
