Definitely surprised with both of the results. Attacking stats look pretty heavily in favor of SDSU and Denver. I might have to watch these games on the Summit site if I have time this weekend. Wonder if Omaha and ORU pulled out the Mourinho bus in both games?

And the reward for winning the Summit League Championship?

An opening round match with Notre Dame. Ouch!

    Ouch.

I wonder what the seed would have been if SDSU or Denver would have won? Omaha has the #4 Summit RPI at 207. SDSU was at 57, Denver was at 110.
UTSA was at 115 and has a first round game against a #5 seed TCU and Bucknell was at 121 and has #6 seed Ohio State.

Bison add 10 commits for next year-

Looks like the recruiting footprint tightened up a little bit this year.
Hopefully they help keep the team moving in the right direction.
Would like to see another MN recruit or two, or *gasp* a ND recruit, but guessing ND rarely has the talent and there's a lot more competition/options for the MN recruits.
    3 - Colorado
    2- Nebraska
    1- Wisconsin
    1- Illinois
    1- Minnesota
    1- Kansas

Minneapolis isn't exactly a hotbed, but for whatever reason this coaching staff hasn't been able to recruit the twin cities with much success. Mark Cook had extensive ties with MTA which helped a lot. MTA already has commits for SDSU, Denver, Gophers, and Notre Dame so not like they're lacking in talent.

Going to drop this question into a non-football thread, even though we all know that football is the main driver of athletics at NDSU.

In light of the Bison returning to the FCS Championship game this comment from a February, 2022 article in The Athletic seems extremely relevant:

"The Bison already dominate FCS to the point where it’s almost boring, and now their top challengers are leaving for the FBS. It seems natural that they should just move up as well."

Is there an FBS conference that would be a better fit for the women's soccer program? The MAC would seem to make the most sense in terms of peer-institutions and travel but they currently have an even number of teams. Everything else looks like it would involve a massive amount of travel.

I feel like if I ask this question in the Conference forum, any discussion about what's best for women's soccer will just get drowned out by football fanatics.

Mountain West is probably the best fit

OK, why is that? I'm curious to know.

Like minded schools and programs. Soccer is already in the west region for awards. We’re much more like Wyoming, Colorado State, Utah State than the MAC schools
