Default Bison vs ORU Golden Eagles

Oral Roberts has announced a schedule change for this weekend's series between the top two teams in the Summit League. The forecast for bad weather on Sunday has led to the decision to play 1 game on Friday and 2 games on Saturday. Friday's game is still set for a 6:00 PM start time. It is "Star Wars Day", with $1.00 hotdogs. Saturdays first game, "Teacher Appreciation Day" will begin at 2:00 PM, with the second game, "Disney Day," to start about 30 minutes after game 1 concludes.

The winner of this series will be in sole possession of first place in the Summitt.

Video, audio, and stats for all games will be streamed live at https://oruathletics.com/watch/?Live=239&type=Live

ORU scores 3 in the first, 3 in the 2nd, and 3 in the 3rd before Loven starts missing the Golden Eagle bats. The Bison answer with 4 in the 3rd for their only runs of the game. ORU gets 1 in the 8th to close out the scoring. Double-header tomorrow begins at 2:00 PM

ORU: 10 runs on 13 hits with no errors and 8 LOB
Bison 4 runs on 10 hits with 1 error and 8 LOB

    WP: Evan Kowalski
    LP: Max Loven

One thing that is certain this spring is that there will always be weather related changes. Today's double header began at 1:00 PM instead of 2:00. ORU drew 1st blood with a run in the 2nd with a double and an error on the Bison. The Bison answered in the third with a run on three singles. The Golden Eagles starter, Ledgend Smith (5-2 2.03 ERA) lasted until there was 1 out in the seventh inning, when he was replaced by Cade Denton (2-0 0.68ERA). The Bison took the lead in the 7th with a run on 2 singles, an error on the Eagles, and a hit batsman. Bison starter Cade Feeney (4-2 3.93ERA) also lasted until there was 1 out in the 7th, when Skyler Riedinger (1-1, 2 saves, 2,77 ERA) came on in relief to retire the side. The score held at 2-1 and Jake Drew (2-0, 5 saves, 0/.00 ERA) came onto pitch for the Bison with 2 out in the eighth and closed out the game for a 2-1 Bison win.

NDSU: 2 runs on 6 hits with 1 error and 6 LOB
ORU: 1 run on 7 hits with 1 error and 6 LOB

    WP: Cade Feeney
    LP: Ledgend Smith
    Save: Jake Drew

The rubber game of this series will have Evan Sankey (3-3 4.70 ERA) on the bump for the Bison. ORU will counter with Isaac Coffey (3-4, 4.34 ERA)

The Bison open the scoring with a walk, stolen base, and an RBI double by Charley Hesse. ORU gets a double and an RBI single followed by a stolen base with 2 out, but the runner is left in scoring position. Bison 1 - Golden Eagles 1 after 1.

The Bison use 4 singles, 2 doubles and an error to plate six runs in the second, They chase the ORU starter with 2 out in the second and he is replaced by Al Archambo (3-1 6.45 ERA). The Bison score again in the 5th on an error, a pair of singles, and a wild pitch, ending Archambo's day with 2 out in the top of the inning. Andrew Roach (1-2 6.26 ERA) faces Bock Anderson gives the Bison run number 9 on a bases loaded walk, then retires the side on a fly ball. ORU is still trying to figure Evan Sankey out and go 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 5th, 9-1 Bison going into the 6th.
