    Default 2022 Outdoor Season

New school record for Amanda Anderson in the discus.

She won the Beach Invitational in LA throwing 190' 1".
Improved her PR by 10 feet and bested the old school record by 4 1/2 feet.

Bison men win their 12th straight Summit League title.

New school record in the 4X400 (3:07.18). Will still need to shave off a few seconds to score at the NCAAs but still....a great time.

    Women finished 2nd to USD.

    West Regional Qualifiers
    (in Fayetteville next week)

    Bison Men:

    Event/Name/Region Rank

    400 Meters: Roder: 39th
    800 Meters: Rodin: 35th
    4 X 400 Meter Relay: 18th *
    Shot Put: Otterdahl: 15th
    Shot Put: Thomsen: 16th
    Shot Put: Hannula: 32nd
    Discus: Pastian: 18th
    Discus: Otterdahl: 43rd
    Hammer: Otterdahl: 8th
    Javelin: Phillips: 44th **

    * Several schools have various groups of 4 guys setting qualifying times. Not sure how that plays out in selecting qualifiers for the regional meet but I believe that a school can only qualify 1 team. If so, then NDSU is in.

** Benji Phillips threw the javelin only 1 time all spring (I'm assuming that he has been injured). But that single throw was enough to qualify.

    Bison Women:

    Event/Name/Region Rank

    5,000 Meters: Anderson: 23rd
    High Jump: Moss: 32nd
    Long Jump: Emineth: 32nd
    Triple Jump: Melvin: 32nd
    Triple Jump: Lipp: 38th
    Shot Put: Anderson: 37th
    Discus: Anderson: 7th
    Hammer: Phillips: 7th
    Javelin: Wolfe: 8th

Will only be one entry for the Bison men at the championships in Eugene. Sadly, no men going in the field events for the first time in a long time.

Bison 4X400 meter relay team set yet another school record. They had the slowest qualifying time (3:05.56) but got the auto qualifier finishing in the top 3 in their heat.

Fantastic time and new record for these guys.

Also, the end of the Otterdahl Brothers Era at NDSU.

That 4x400 record caught me by surprise - then I looked and Roder and Harris have the two best 400 times in NDSU history so it turns out that I haven't been paying attention. The old 4x400 record was held by Allen Burrell, Marques Johnson, Jared Essler, and Reece Vega - and those guys could fly (and three were on the football team!)

Now if NDSU shatters their 4x100 record (40.0) or the women's 4x400 (3:32) - that would be incredible.
