Obviously, you never encountered a hot pitcher in your illustrious baseball experiences. Combine an umpire with a shaky strike zone with an unusually high percentage of called third strikes by a team that has shown that they have a good eye and you get a career high in strikeouts (15) by a pitcher whose results on Saturday were not consistent with his stats for this season. This is baseball. Even the World Champion LA Dodgers lost 3 games to the last place Diamondbacks in 2021. No one wins them all.

Rubber game of the series with St. Thomas has Evan Sankey (3-3, 4.98 ERA) starting on the mound for the Bison, and just like clockwork, the Tommies take the lead with a 2-run homerun. However, this is different than recent games as the Bison answer with a 2-run homerun of their own, as Pewter Brookshaw hits his 6th of the year off of Tommies starter Devon Schewe (0-2, 2.61 ERA). Game tied 2-2 after 1 inning of play.

St. Thomas gets one unearned run in the 2nd as the Bison defense commits 2 errors and the Bison go down 1-2-3. Bison trail by 1. The 3rd inning has the Tommies scoring 2 more on a solo home run, a walk, a stolen base, and an RBI single, while the Bison go down 1-2-3 again. 5-2 St. Thomas after 3 innings.

The 4th begins with a pitching change for the Bison. Tristen Roehrich (3-1, 3.45 ERA) replaces Sankey and surrenders an infield single, a bloop single coupled with an error on the right fielder and the Tommies score another run before the side is retired. The Bison answer with back-to-back homeruns, a 3-run shot by Charley Hesse, his 2nd of the year, followed by a solo poke by Calen Schwabe, his 1st of 2022, and it's all tied up at 6 each after 4.
