    We’re protecting source identities, apparently.

EZ and mt are both hearing it. That is all we know at this point.

I heard it this morning too, but sort of brushed it off. Then heard it again tonight...and mt also said the same thing. Not sure if mt and I are hearing it through the same source, which is totally possible given the size of Fargo/NDSU/fanbase. It could be crap, but I'm confident it's not malicious crap. When there is smoke, there usually is fire...

Yeah totally fair. You also have the same source saying Polasek and Burgundy kinda confirmed it in the other thread…

What doesn’t make sense to me at all is how that would work with an AD announcing a HC hire and his own resignation? Timing seems really tricky… no idea what to think…

Not really sure what came first. But it's a pretty tough spot to leave NDSU a few days before early singing period without an AD or HC. No idea what the process is behind the scenes, but maybe why it's taking longer than expected.

The AD plays no role in signing day.

He does if he forgets to hire a head football coach a couple days before signing day.
North Dakota State, a football team the big boys of college football should avoid like the plague, helped christen a $90 million renovation to Snyder Family Stadium — including a statue of famed Kansas State coach Bill Snyder himself — by taking a sledgehammer to the place.
