I'm all for going FBS but we DON'T need a new stadium. For FBS to ever fly in the near term you have to forget about your pie in the sky stadium. It ain't happening. Insisting on a new stadium for FBS only enables the FCS FOREVER crowd.

dont care, we wanna be BIG time or what? its 2022. dome is 30 years old and NDSU has no control over it or revenues.

NDSU builds own stadium, they get ALL the revenues.

waiting on someone to refute my post above you though... i'll make a pot of coffee.. might be awhile.

This might be the stupidest thing you've ever said, and that bar is really really high.

The footprint of the Fargodome and parking is about 7x larger than the footprint of the practice fields. A 2nd grader could have figured this out.

We'll build a 22 story parking garage above the stadium. First of its kind.

The Fargodome footprint, when you count the parking lots on both sides, would be equal to the the following land mass that houses...

    SHAC
Indoor Practice Field (Both the IPF and the outdoor turf)
    Newman Outdoor Field
    Dacotah Field
Shelly Ellig (and all the parking around it)
    Bio Science Research Lab

and you could still run a road down the middle

But the land west of the dome near the airport is plenty big for a new stadium. It's equally as wide and deeper. Much depends if that land that is being used for agriculture can be relocated. Would a building equally as tall as the dome be too tall?
